The Ulster Historical Foundation March Lecture Tour 2018!

The Ulster Historical Foundation’s North American March Lecture tour will begin Saturday March 3rd in Augusta, Georgia. There are 14 stops planned for this year’s tour. Fintan Mullan and Gillian Hunt will be making stops all over the U.S. and Canada including Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, Boston Massachusetts, Chicago Illinois, Seattle Washington and even Honolulu, Hawaii. This 3 week tour is the most aggressive that the Foundation has conducted since starting the North American Lecture tour over 20 years ago. The presentations include ways to get the most out of your Irish research and how to break down the walls in your research.

I will be meeting up with Fintan and Gillian when they make a stop (and catch their breaths) in Madison, Wisconsin on March 8. We will be talking about this year's tour as well as past tours. They have been almost everywhere across the U.S. and Canada and have seen all kinds of weather in past tours. That included a Lake Michigan style blizzard in east central Wisconsin last year which almost cancelled their stop to Green Bay, Wisconsin! Fintan recently told me that was the first time either one had been through a lake effect snow storm and were amazed at how much snow a lake such as Lake Michigan can generate.

I will also be asking Fintan and Gillian about future projects for the Foundation and other future lecture trips around the world that the organization is planning.

Some of the tour stops are already sold out but if you are interested in joining one of the available tour stops, check out their website https://ancestryireland.com. Here are the stops planned for this year's March North American Lecture Tour!
