A visit from the Ulster Historical Foundation

This has been a very busy week in Green Bay, Wisconsin. After Saturday's St. Patrick's Day parade in Green Bay, we welcomed two representatives from the Ulster Historical Foundation in Belfast. Executive Director Fintan Mullan and researcher Gillian Hunt conducted 3 sessions on Irish records at the Brown County Library on Monday evening. About 120 were in attendance at the library's auditorium despite the weather which included snow earlier in the day. Sessions included identifying and understanding townlands in Irish research, using land records as a Census Substitute and Census Substitutes and other Important Sources for the 18th and Early 19th Centuries .

Fintan and Gillian also conducted one on one genealogy consultations Tuesday morning for those who had specific questions on their research. This is the second visit to Green Bay for the UHF with the first two years ago.
