In conjunction with the Archdiocese of Boston, The New England Historical Genealogical Society is now offering Catholic records online. Click here to check it out. The more than 10 million records that cover the period from 1789 to 1900 will in time include over 150 parishes within the Boston Archdiocese. Currently, the records online include four of Boston's oldest parishes such as Holy Cross Cathedral. The database just involves images at this time. The project will eventually add a searchable index and scanned 937 registers although this could take several years go complete. NEHGS has also added an online tutorial to help researchers locate records.
